You might already know about the dynamic sister duo, Alyssa and Gisele Thompson of ACFC, but we’ve dug up ten surprising facts that will make you love them even more. USWNT Sisterhood
Alyssa and Gisele Thompson are making history by being only the third pair of sisters called up to the USWNT roster. The other pairs were twins Lorrie and Ronnie Fair in 1997, and Sam and Kristie Mewis in 2021.
Historic Nike Sponsorship
In May 2022, Alyssa and Gisele made waves by becoming the first high school athletes to sign sponsorship deals with Nike, which included using their name, image, and likeness.
Built-in BFFS
Born just 13 months apart, Alyssa and Gisele have been each other’s closest friends since childhood. They also have side-by-side jersey numbers at Angel City FC! Alyssa reps #21 while Gisele wears #20.
Third Soccer Sister
Alyssa and Gisele have a younger sister named Zoe, a soccer star. Zoe Thompson plays for Tudela FC and was recently called up to the U14 West Regional Mini-Camp. Will we see a third ACFC sister?

While Alyssa and Gisele Thompson are both called to the USWNT, they are eligible to represent multiple national teams because of their parents’ multicultural heritage.
Parental Athletes
When you have three soccer stars in one family, one has to ask, who are their parents? Karen and Mario Thompson also have an athletic background, which is no surprise. Mario played basketball, football, and ran track in high school and college, while Karen played basketball.
