
Accra Lions survived a late onslaught from Aduana Stars to secure an important win and hand their survival hopes a huge boost.Having scored five goals by the hour mark, the visitors netted three goals in the last ten minutes to set up a frenzy finish.Accra Lions started the game brightly and after early pressure broke the deadlock through defender Musa Hamzata, who headed home from a Fuzy Taylor freekick.On the half hour mark, Lucky Nwafor doubled the lead following a swift move from the left, twisting and turning his marker before slotting home from inside the box.Four minutes later, Tahiru, who had assisted Nwafor for his side’s second then pounced on a mistake from Aduana to extend the advantage.At the stroke of half-time, Nwafor doubled his tally, finishing off following a scrappy moment in Aduana’s box.After the break, Accra Lions added their fifth after Tahiru rose high to head home a freekick from Lawrence Setordjie.With ten minutes left, second half substitute, Emmanuel Opoku Peprah headed home from a corner kick to pull one back.Three minutes later he fired home from outside the box to reduce the deficit before Emmanuel Marfo scored late in injury time to make it 5-3.
