Former Ghana international David Accam has urged Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz to build team cohesion ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
His remarks come after the team was held to a 1-1 draw against Wales in a preparatory game at the Cardiff City Stadium.
While reluctant to predict how far Ghana can go at the tournament, Accam insists the new technical team must quickly address the shortcomings that have plagued the side in recent years.
“At the moment, we have a new technical team, and hopefully they will solve the problems we had before,” he told Graphic Sports.
“They need to bring cohesion to the team and help the players perform better together,” Accam added.
Ghana, set for their fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage, have been drawn alongside Panama, England and Croatia in a group widely regarded as one of the tournament’s toughest.
The four-time African champions will begin their Group L journey against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field, before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final group match comes against Croatia on June 27.
The Black Stars are chasing a return to the knockout stage for the first time since 2010, having exited at the group phase in both 2014 and 2022.
