5️⃣ spicy fixtures you must watch this weekend 🌶

It’s a massive weekend of action right across Europe. The top games to watch this weekend feature derbies in Milan, Glasgow and Istanbul.

Five spicy fixtures you must watch this weekend:

Wrexham vs Chelsea

Wrexham face one of the biggest games in their history this weekend, when Chelsea arrive at The Racecourse Ground. The tie is Wrexham’s first FA Cup fifth-round fixture for almost two decades, against one of English football’s traditional giants.

On a smaller scale, the Welsh club’s rapid rise has somewhat mirrored Chelsea’s catapult into the elite. Both were bankrolled by big-spending owners, receiving opposition from less wealthy rivals.

Wrexham have climbed from non-league to the Championship in straight seasons, and their recent form has taken them into the play-offs. A fourth consecutive promotion is possible, but first up is an upset that would certainly light up any documentary…

Kick-off: 5.45pm, Sunday 7th March

Where to watch: The game will be shown live in the UK on BBC One, where coverage starts at 17:30, and TNT Sports 2, which has a start time of 17:00.

Besiktas vs Galatasaray

There are always fireworks when Istanbul’s biggest clubs meet, and this one shapes as pivotal to the Turkish title race. Galatasaray holds a four-point lead over Fenerbahce, ahead of a tough trip to in-form Besiktas.

The hosts are unbeaten in 18 games across all competitions to climb back into the European places. A high-stakes derby showdown will be engrossing viewing.

Kick-off: 5pm, Saturday 7th March

Where to watch: beIN SPORTS.

Newcastle vs Manchester City

Arguably, the biggest FA Cup fifth-round tie takes place at St James’ Park, where Newcastle meet Manchester City.

The Magpies saw their Carabao Cup defence ended by the Citizens earlier in the campaign and also lost to Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League last month. Revenge will be on the agenda for a Newcastle side lifted by a spirited win over Manchester United in midweek.

Kick-off: 8pm, Saturday 7th March

Where to watch: Newcastle United v Manchester City will be live on TNT Sports 1 and discovery+ with coverage starting at 19:00 UK time.

Rangers vs Celtic

Fresh from a pulsating Old Firm clash in the Scottish Premiership, the Glaswegian giants lock horns again in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Rangers led 2-0 last weekend, courtesy of Youseef Chermiti’s brilliant double, but blew that advantage in a blow to their title hopes.

Celtic’s character earned an important result, but flaws remain in Martin O’Neill’s side. With both chasing Hearts in the league, this cup clash takes on even greater importance.

Kick-off: 1pm, Sunday 8th March

Where to watch: The Scottish Cup clash will be broadcast by Premier Sports 1.

Spice Rating: Fire 🌶🌶🌶🌶

AC Milan vs Inter Milan

Inter Milan can put one hand on the Scudetto this weekend in the Derby della Madonnina. It’s first against second as leaders Inter face off against AC Milan, boasting a 10-point lead.

Victory for the Nerazurri will all but end the title race in Italy, while Milan must win to have a genuine chance of closing the gap.

The hosts have lost just twice in Serie A all season, but nine draws have left them a distant second to their city neighbours.

Kick-off: 7:45pm, Sunday 8th March

Where to watch: The AC Milan v Inter Milan game will be shown live on TNT Sports 1 and DAZN.
