Communications Director of Asante Kotoko has hinted that the playing body will be rewarded if they secure qualification for the next round against Kwara United.
The Ghana Premier League giants secured a thrilling 4-3 win against the Nigerian side in the first leg of the preliminary round of games in the CAF Confederation Cup last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ahead of the return leg this weekend at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, Duku revealed that the players will receive special bonuses should they qualify for the next round.
“There is always a winning bonus even in the Ghana Premier League, but qualifying from the preliminary stage will add some appreciable amount of money,” he told Nhyira FM.
Sarfo Duku further insisted that it is non-negotiable for his side to progress to the second round.
“Asante Kotoko is ahead of Kwara United on any platform, so they should be able to account for them. The good news is that the match will be played on a neutral ground, so there is a significant advantage for us.
“I assure all Kotoko fans that on Sunday after the game, Kotoko will be eligible for the next stage,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will face Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club should they qualify for the next round.
