Power Rankings are back for another update, with Manchester United making a long overdue return.
📈 Power Rankings: Manchester United make overdue return
10. Manchester United
Manchester United back in the Power Rankings, who would have thought it?
Caretaker Carrick has certainly made an impact with four wins from his first five games, before a midweek draw at West Ham. No haircut this time, Frank, but it might be coming.

9. Aston Villa ⬇️ (last week: 6)
Aston Villa fall this week after dropping points in the Premier League. Some shambolic defending allowed Bournemouth an equaliser at the weekend, though Unai Emery’s side bounced back to beat Brighton in midweek.
They are in pole position for Champions League football.
8. Inter Milan ⬆️ (last week: 9)
The Serie A leaders notched up a fifth consecutive win at the weekend and underlined their status as the league’s best attack.
Inter thrashed Sassuolo 5-0 to extend their lead in the title race and have now scored 17 goals across their last five games.
7. Lyon ⬆️ (last week: 8)
Make that a dozen for Lyon.
The French side has reeled off 12 wins on the spin across all competitions, in a remarkable run of form.
They’ve now climbed above Marseille and into the Champions League places, a competition the club hasn’t competed in since a semi-final appearance in 2020.
6. Real Madrid ⬆️ (last week: 7)
The title race in La Liga is on a knife-edge. There’s just one point between the top two, with Real Madrid ensuring the pressure remains on Barcelona with a win at Valencia last weekend.
Kylian Mbappe sealed the 2-0 success with his 23rd goal of the La Liga campaign.
5. Lens (No change)
Lens are not giving up without a fight in Ligue 1.
The unexpected challengers to PSG’s throne overcame adversity to secure a 3-1 win over Rennes, despite having Ruben Aguilar sent off after 56 minutes. A moment of magic from new signing Allan Saint-Maximim helped Lens keep the pressure on PSG.

3. Barcelona ⬇️ (last week: 4)
As routine as you get for Barcelona, who waltzed to a 3-0 success against Mallorca.
A drop in position is harsh on the La Liga leaders, but the consequences of wins elsewhere see them slip a spot.
3. Manchester City ⬆️ (last week: 4)
A massive week in Manchester City’s season. Anfield has been an arduous experience for the Citizens, who had won just three times in 53 attempts before Sunday’s showdown.
The tale appeared a familiar one when Dominik Szoboszlai thumped Liverpool ahead, but City staged a late fightback to take the points.
Liverpool led with six minutes of normal time to play, though a chaotic conclusion saw Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland turn the game around. An impressive win over Fulham in midweek has put real pressure on Arsenal.

2. Bayern Munich (No change)
Germany’s top teams just cannot compete with the behemoth that is Bayern Munich right now.
The champions swatted aside Hoffenheim with a 5-1 win at the weekend, with Luis Diaz scoring a hat-trick, before easing past RB Leipzig in the German Cup quarter-finals. Vincent Kompany’s men appear on an unstoppable march domestically.

1. Arsenal (No change)
Could Arsenal really win a quadruple? It’s an achievement never done before in English football, but the Gunners remain in contention.
Mikel Arteta’s side set up a League Cup final with Manchester City next month, after beating Chelsea, before overcoming a potential banana skin against Sunderland in the Premier League.
