Samartex head coach, Christopher Ennin, has urged Hohoe United to remain focused and determined as they battle to escape relegation in the Ghana Premier League.
Hohoe United boosted their survival hopes in the Ghanaian top-flight with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Timber Giants in a highly competitive clash, held at the Hohoe Sports Stadium, courtesy of Kekeli Attor’s decisive strike early in the second half.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams probing cautiously and struggling to create clear-cut chances.
The breakthrough arrived three minutes after the restart. A swift attacking move saw the ball worked into the path of Kekeli Attor, who kept his composure to fire past the goalkeeper in the 48th minute, sending the home fans into wild celebrations.
Samartex pushed forward in search of an equalizer, committing numbers in attack, but Hohoe defended resolutely and remained dangerous on the counter.
“Hohoe United must keep pushing. When you’re in the relegation zone, you’re always under pressure. I’ll urge them to stay focused and continue fighting â the sky is the limit. With the right mindset and determination, they can secure their place in the league.” He said at the post-match conference.
After 24 matches, Samartex find themselves in the sixth position on the Ghana Premier League log with 36 points, while Hohoe United sit 16th spot with 27 points.
