Arne Slot could set a new club record for Liverpool with a win at Galatasaray tomorrow evening.
Liverpool head to Istanbul for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against the Turkish champions on Tuesday.
The Reds will be aiming for a positive result to take back to Anfield, while Slot’s side will be keen to avenge a defeat to Galatasaray in this season’s league phase.
The Liverpool manager has faced criticism this season after a disappointing defence of the Premier League title. Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League and facing a battle to secure Champions League qualification.
However, Slot will break a long-standing club record if his side win at Galatasaray. The Dutchman will take charge of his 100th game with the club on Tuesday night, and will break Kenny Dalglish’s record for the most wins by a Liverpool manager in their first 100 games with victory.
The night could also be a record-breaking evening for Mohamed Salah. Should the Egyptian feature, he will move past Jamie Carragher for the most appearances by a Liverpool player in the Champions League.
