Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has said he will make a decision on his future soon amid links to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Iraola’s contract expires at the end of the campaign and he is yet to inform Bournemouth about his future plans. The Spaniard has been offered a new contract on the south coast, having impressed since his arrival from Rayo Vallecano in 2023.
Iraola led the Cherries to a ninth-place finish in 2024-25 and has ensured Bournemouth have remained competitive this season, despite losing a raft of key players.
His achievements have not gone unnoticed at Premier League rivals, with both Manchester United and Tottenham currently under caretaker coaches and assessing options for their next permanent managers.
Asked about his future, Iraola said he was ‘close’ to making a decision: “Yes, definitely. It is something that we will have to decide sooner rather than later. There is no news – when there is, we will say it.
“Me and the club are really open, we talk a lot and it is open conversations, but we cannot say it outside. That is how it should work.
“It is normal conversations, like what happens with players, agents and [other] managers. I have a great relationship [with the board], everything is fine between us.There are things that we discuss but they are internal conversations.”
