The 2026 National Women’s Soccer League season started off with plenty of chaos, both on the field and off. With expansion team debuts, red cards, and upsets, there was never a dull moment. Plus, the transfers haven’t stopped, with reports of three high-profile players moving.

Houston Dash turns a new page—again.

Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan have hung up their boots in Houston and will join the Denver Summit. The news was first reported by Sports Illustrated. Their absence in the Houston’s starting linup for the team’s 1-0 away win over the San Diego Wave in Matchday 1 raised eyebrows. The pair headlined Houston’s offseason spending spree in 2025. Ryan had seven goal contributions for the Dash last season, while Sheehan had three. They will serve as automatic upgrades in Denver’s midfield and forward line, as the Summit continues its robust expansion team build-out. Denver seeks its first franchise win away at Orlando this Friday.
