Gordon keen on securing a St. James’ Park exit
Alongside many expecting Howe’s almost five-year reign at St. James’ to come to an end this summer, it appears that Newcastle could have a major revamp across the board ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
With continued speculation over the respective futures of their superstar midfield duo, The Telegraph reported on Thursday that Gordon is keen on securing a move away this summer and has his sights set on playing Champions League football.
With The Telegraph’s report stating that Gordon believes he has already outgrown Newcastle, there has been non-stop speculation over the England international since he arrived at St. James’ Park back in January 2023 for a reported fee of £45million.
Watching Isak eventually complete his infamous Newcastle divorce last summer, Gordon is keen to follow suit and it appears that his decision has already been made.
Although Gordon might have notched just six Premier League strikes this season, the former Everton star enjoyed a sensational run on the continent and his European performances have certainly attracted plenty of attention.
While Newcastle might have watched their Champions League adventure come to a thumping end last month following an 8-3 aggregate defeat against Barcelona, Gordon registered 10 European goals and only the duo of Harry Kane (12) and Kylian Mbappe (15) have notched more.

Gordon to join Kane in Munich?
While Gordon might have eventually stayed put at St. James’ Park over the past two transfer windows, it is no secret that the 25-year-old has a string of heavyweight European admirers.
Reportedly making it clear to his representatives back in January that he was keen on clinching a permanent switch to title contenders Arsenal, the ex-Everton poster boy has also been linked with what would be a controversial move to Anfield.
However, watching Bayern Munich punch their Champions League semi-final ticket in midweek as they stormed past Real Madrid thanks to a stunning 6-4 aggregate win, it has been suggested that Vincent Kompany is a huge admirer of Newcastle’s wantaway star.
Although former Liverpool ace Luis Diaz might have enjoyed a sensational maiden campaign among Germany’s elite, Kompany is keen on adding some competition this summer and has identified Gordon as his standout target.
While the St. James’ Park hierarchy might have reportedly placed an £80million price tag on the England international, Bayern are optimistic about completing a blockbuster summer swoop.
With Bayern now almost universally regarded as a standout contender to get their hands on a seventh European crown over the coming weeks, the prospect of linking up with Kane at the Allianz would certainly be a huge appeal to Gordon.
