FIFA has confirmed that the official draws for the next editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will take place on May 21, 2026, at its headquarters in Zurich.
The announcement follows the successful introduction of the expanded U-17 World Cup format, which featured 48 teams for the first time during last year’s edition in Qatar. The tournament ended with Portugal lifting the trophy, highlighting the growing depth of youth talent globally.
Similarly, the inaugural annual edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, held in Morocco, was widely regarded as a success. The 24-team competition saw Korea DPR emerge as champions, marking another step forward in the development of women’s football.
FIFA confirmed that the draw ceremony will bring together football legends and representatives from participating nations, with the event to be broadcast live worldwide.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 is scheduled to run from November 19 to December 13, with 48 teams competing. Meanwhile, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 will take place from October 17 to November 7, featuring 24 teams.
Further details on the draw procedures and participating teams will be announced in the coming weeks.
