Medeama SC put up a top performance on Wednesday evening as they defeated Basake Holy Stars 2-1 in their official coronation match before lifting the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League trophy.
The Tarkwa-based club had already secured the league title weeks earlier following a dominant 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions.
Following their title triumph, the Yellow and Mauves travelled to Accra for their final league fixture against Hearts of Oak before returning home for the coronation celebration arranged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The coronation encounter against Basake Holy Stars was staged at the TnA Stadium, with large numbers of Medeama supporters turning up to celebrate the club’s league success.
The match itself produced entertaining football, with both teams battling intensely throughout the contest.
After the sides went into halftime level on the scoreboard, Medeama raised their performance in the second half to find the winning goal.
Derrick Fodjour eventually sealed a 2-1 victory for the hosts, ensuring the champions finished the celebrations with another positive result in front of their supporters.
