
Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori scored a crucial 77th-minute goal to secure Casa Pia AC’s 2-0 victory over Torreense and cap a 2-0 aggregate triumph in the Liga Portugal Qualification Final on Thursday evening.
Ofori finished from very close range with a right-footed shot to the centre of the goal, assisted by Korede Osundina, sealing the win at Estadio Municipal de Rio Maior. Gaizka Larrazabal had opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a right-footed strike from the right side of the box, assisted by Kevin Prieto’s through ball.
The match ended 2-0, giving Casa Pia a clean aggregate scoreline after the first leg finished goalless. Casa Pia hadn’t lost in eight matches heading into this decisive fixture.
Torreense pushed late, with Dany Jean hitting the bar in the 90+6′ minute from a right-footed shot in the centre of the box. The game saw seven added minutes and several yellow cards, including Guilherme Liberato (Torreense) and João Goulart (Casa Pia).
Casa Pia AC will now advance in the Liga Portugal Qualification, continuing their campaign after this commanding two-legged victory over Torreense.
