Panama and Bosnia and Herzegovina shared a hard-fought 1-1 draw Saturday at Energizer Park in St. Louis, offering both sides valuable final prep before the 2026 World Cup.
Bosnia struck first in the 23rd minute when Nikola Katic rose highest to head home Amar Dedic’s precise cross, giving the visitors an early lead. Panama, who hadn’t kept a clean sheet in six matches, searched desperately for an answer before halftime.
Just as the first half seemed destined to end in disappointment, Jiovany Ramos delivered a moment of magic. In the 45th minute, Ramos fired a right-footed shot into the net to level the scoreboard right before the break. The equalizer came during added time, with the fourth official announcing three minutes of stoppage.
The second half saw numerous substitutions from both sides, with Panama bringing on Ãric Davis and Fidel Escobar late. Ismael DÃaz received a yellow card for a bad foul in the 68th minute. Despite Panama’s unbeaten run of seven games, defensive concerns remain as they prepare to face Ghana on June 17 in their Group L opener alongside England and Croatia.
