Downtown Providence has been transformed into a vibrant celebration of Ghanaian culture as Tribe Culturefest officially launched its #FWC26Tribe activations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

At the heart of the festivities is a striking “I Love Ghana” installation, designed in the red, gold and green colours of the Ghanaian flag. Located in the city centre, the landmark has quickly become a popular attraction for residents, visitors and members of the Ghanaian community, serving as a tribute to Ghana’s rich culture and national pride.

The celebrations also feature life-sized tributes to some of Ghana’s most iconic Black Stars players, honouring the football legends who have inspired generations and elevated Ghana’s profile on the global stage.

The installations form part of activities leading up to Ghana Day 2026, scheduled for Saturday, June 20, in partnership with the City of Providence.

The event will feature cultural exhibitions, tourism showcases, interactive experiences, authentic Ghanaian cuisine, music, dance and live entertainment, giving attendees an opportunity to experience Ghana’s heritage while sharing in the excitement of the FIFA World Cup.

“The relationship between Ghana and the United States has been built over many years through cultural exchange, shared values and strong partnerships,” said Kristin Gyimah, Chief Operating Officer of Tribe Culturefest.

“The World Cup gives us a unique opportunity to strengthen those connections even further. Through these installations and experiences, we want people to feel Ghana’s energy, passion and culture in a way that brings communities together and creates lasting memories.”

Providence is the first stop on Tribe Culturefest’s nationwide FWC26Tribe campaign, which will also visit Boston and Philadelphia to promote Ghanaian culture, tourism and the country’s passion for football during the World Cup.

The initiative is also creating links between communities in Ghana and the United States. On June 12, Tribe Culturefest partnered with the United States Embassy in Ghana to host a FIFA World Cup watch party at the Accra Sports Stadium, bringing together hundreds of football fans to celebrate the tournament.

The organisers say the collaboration demonstrated how football and culture can strengthen ties between nations and create lasting connections beyond the game.
