Black Stars forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is beaming with confidence after Ghana left it late to beat Panama in their opening game at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 

Caleb Yirenkyi tapped home to secure Ghana victory and put them in good position ahead of their second game against England.

Issahaku started from the bench and was one of the players who added spark to Ghana’s attack in the second half.

“Is always a pleasure and a dream to represent this nation and thank you all for your wonderful support yesterday. And what a run from the team yesterday, what a way to start a world cup. keep believing,” posted the winger after the game.

The Leicester City attacker will be hoping to start against the Three Lions next Tuesday in Boston.

The Black Stars returned to the United States immediately after their victory in Toronto, and will be putting finishing touches to their tactical approach for the England clash.

Meanwhile, England also started the tournament on a bright note after beating Croatia 4-2 in Dallas. A Harry Kane brace was cancelled by strikes from Martin Baturina and Petar Musa in a thrilling first half before second half strikes from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford sealed the win.
