Switzerland secured top spot in Group B after defeating hosts Canada 2-1 in their final group-stage match. Goals from Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi helped Murat Yakin’s side claim all three points, while Promise David scored Canada’s only goal.
As a result, Switzerland finished the group stage with seven points and advanced to the knockout rounds as Group B winners. Canada, meanwhile, also secured qualification despite the defeat, finishing second with four points.

Bosnia Keep Qualification Hopes Alive
In the other Group B fixture, Bosnia strengthened their hopes of reaching the knockout stage by defeating Qatar 3-1. The Dragons produced an encouraging attacking display and finished level on points with Canada.
Goals from Kerim Alajbegovic, Sultan Al-Brake’s own goal, and Ermin Marmic were enough to secure maximum points for Bosnia. Meanwhile, Qatar only managed to pull one goal back through Hassan Al-Haydos
However, Bosnia missed out on second place due to an inferior goal difference. The head-to-head rule could not separate the two nations either, as their earlier meeting ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nevertheless, Bosnia remain in a strong position to qualify as one of the tournament’s best third-placed teams. Four points and a respectable goal difference should give them a realistic chance of progressing.
Even so, there are still areas for improvement. Bosnia allowed Iraq to create several dangerous opportunities throughout the match. Therefore, if they advance, the defensive organization will need to improve against stronger opponents in the knockout stage.
