Yan Diomande admitted that he expects to leave RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, with both Liverpool and PSG interested in signing him.
The highly-rated 19-year-old is one of the most coveted youngsters in the game right now following an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga, registering 12 goals and eight assists.
Liverpool have targeted the winger, who is currently representing the Ivory Coast at the FIFA World Cup, as a potential replacement for Mo Salah following the Egyptian’s departure from Anfield at the end of last season.
The Reds reportedly made a transfer bid of €90 million plus €10 million in add-ons, but that was rejected by Leipzig, who are keen to hold on to their teenage star.
Liverpool planned on making an improved bid for Diomande, but it appears as though the player has chosen PSG as his next destination. As a result, the Merseyside outfit are said to be looking at signing Bradley Barcola from PSG instead.

Yan Diomande ‘expects’ to leave Leipzig amid Liverpool and PSG links
Speaking ahead of Ivory Coast’s World Cup last-32 tie against Norway on Tuesday, Diomande said: “First of all, like I said, my dream is playing for my country and making history with my country.
“I don’t have Instagram anymore, I don’t have TikTok, so I can’t see anything but I expect to leave [RB Leipzig] of course.
“I have an agent who’s going to manage the rest, but for me the most important thing right now is focusing on the World Cup with my country and making history with them.”
Who is Liverpool and PSG transfer target Yan Diomande?
Diomande is a 19-year-old winger who predominantly plays on the right, but can also play on the left. He was born in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, but moved to the United States at a young age.
The teenager came through the DME Academy and had a trial with Rangers in 2023, but did not sign for the Scottish club. He went on to join Spanish side Leganes in 2024 instead, scoring twice in 10 La Liga appearances before moving to Leipzig the following year.
Diomande signed a five-year contract with the east German club in a €20m transfer last summer. He’s scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions this term, including a hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt in December. That made him the second-youngest player in Bundesliga history to score three goals in one game.
He has so far impressed at the World Cup with his national team, helping them reach the knockout stages for the first time in history.
