London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Spanish international midfielder Alexia Putellas.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
The 32-year-old joins London City Lionesses after recently leaving Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Putellas made more than 500 appearances for Barca over 14 years. She netted more than 200 goals for the club. The forward won 35 trophies including 10 Liga F Moeve titles and four UEFA Women’s Champions Leagues.
On the international stage, Putellas has been capped by Spain on 148 occasions in which she has scored 42 goals. She has won the FIFA Women’s World Cup and UEFA Women’s Nations League with her country.
After joining London City Lionesses, Putellas said “I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter with London City Lionesses.

“I look forward to making an impact on the pitch as we challenge for titles.

Putellas is London City Lionesses’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
