Talk around Trevoh Chalobah and a potential move to Italy has been going on all summer. Both Inter Milan and Como have been heavily linked, and it’s felt like a deal has been close without getting over the line.
Yesterday there were conflicting reports about whether a third bid had been submitted – today in Italy there is a lot of conviction that Como have broken the deadlock.
Como’s third offer to be accepted by Chelsea

CalcioMercato say that Como have “finally made a move,” having previously waited to see what Inter would do. Cesc Fabregas’s side have offered €30m plus €5m in bonuses for the central defender. The numbers have climbed significantly from their opening offer of €25m plus €2m in bonuses.
The sense in Italy is that this deal will be accepted. Fabregas is keen on Chalobah as a player with Champions League experience, and the ability to play in a back 3 if necessary.
Chelsea have far too many central defenders on their books and at this stage just need to get rid of some of them. Selling Chalobah would allow the deal to buy Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace to move ahead.
In other news…
There are a few different options for Chelsea up front this season – and it’s pretty clear who the best option to back up Joao Pedro is.
Chelsea’s most ambitious transfer attempt of the summer is being rumoured right now – a €100m purchase and loan back.
