Teams from Turkey, Czechia, Poland, Greece and Italy had all monitored his situation following his departure from Azerbaijani champions Qarabag at the end of last season.Addai becomes a free agent after bringing a successful two-year spell at Qarabag to an end, where he established himself as one of the club’s key attacking players in domestic competitions and Europe.Last season, the Ghanaian featured in 10 UEFA Champions League matches, facing elite opposition including Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United. He also found the net in Qarabag’s 2-0 Champions League victory over FC Copenhagen during the qualifying rounds.Across all competitions, Addai registered seven goals and four assists in 47 appearances, performances that attracted interest from several clubs before OH Leuven won the race for his signature.The move will see Addai return to Belgian football, where he will be hoping to continue his development and strengthen his chances of earning a regular place in Ghana’s senior national team.
