Ghana’s Black Satellites completed their preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship with a 2-1 comeback victory over Semper Fi in a friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.After falling behind in the opening half, the Black Satellites responded with determination in the second period, producing an encouraging performance that earned them victory in their final warm-up fixture.The match provided Maxwell Konadu and his technical team with one last opportunity to assess the squad under competitive conditions while fine-tuning the players’ fitness and tactical organisation ahead of the regional tournament.The occasion was further boosted by the presence of Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who attended the match and met the players after the final whistle.The GFA boss, after the match, encouraged the team to represent Ghana with pride and urged them to give their best as they prepare for another important qualification campaign.The Black Satellites are scheduled to travel to Yamoussoukro on Friday for the start of the WAFU B U-20 Championship.Ghana have been drawn into a challenging Group B, where they will begin their campaign against regional rivals Nigeria before facing Burkina Faso and Togo in what is considered one of the tournament’s toughest groups.The competition also serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.
