Kotoko set to complete signing of Ivorian centre-back Koffi Ange Bini

Asante Kotoko are set to complete the signing of Ivorian centre-back Koffi Marius Ange Bini as the Porcupine Warriors continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 24-year-old defender is expected to add strength and experience to Kotoko’s backline after building his career across several countries outside his native Cote d’Ivoire.Bini has previously featured for Al-Taqadom, Al-Talaba, Al-Jahra, Al-Rustaq, United City FC, Maharlika Manila FC and FK Smorgon, gaining experience in different footballing environments. His most recent club was FK Smorgon in Belarus, which he joined in March 2025, making three league appearances for the club during the 2025 Belarusian Premier League campaign. Before his move to Belarus, Bini spent time in the Philippines, representing United City FC and Maharlika Manila, while also having spells in Kuwait and Oman. His arrival provides Kotoko with another defensive option as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the new campaign. Bini was included in Asante Kotoko’s travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Accra, featuring alongside other defenders as the Porcupine Warriors stepped up their preparations. The Porcupine Warriors will be hoping Bini’s size, strength, aerial dominance, and experience can help reinforce their defence. The move also marks a new chapter for the Ivorian defender, who will now have the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Ghana Premier League with one of the country’s most decorated clubs.Kotoko have been active in the transfer market as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, with Bini’s expected arrival continuing the club’s defensive rebuild under head coach Eric Tinkler.
