Rodri, Adeyemi registered for Barcelona opener

Barcelona have registered midfielder Rodri and forward Karim Adeyemi with La Liga ahead of their opening fixture of the season, according to Barca Universal. Rodri arrives from Manchester City in a deal worth €76.5 million, including add-ons, while Adeyemi joins from Borussia Dortmund for €22 million.

Two new signings registered

Barcelona have faced difficulties registering players freely with La Liga in recent transfer windows, with the club relying on unusual measures to register new signings. After returning to La Liga’s 1:1 Fair Play rule this summer, Barcelona have been operating with greater freedom in the market.

Rodri has joined Barcelona from Manchester City, while Adeyemi was signed from Borussia Dortmund. Both have now been registered with La Liga ahead of the league opener.

Gordon and Cancelo still pending

Anthony Gordon and João Cancelo have yet to be registered. Barca Universal reports that Barcelona are expected to take care of both cases before their opening match this weekend.

Barcelona also need to register Andreas Christensen, who signed a new contract this summer after his previous deal with the club expired on 30 June.

Opening match against Elche

The registrations come a couple of days before Barcelona begin the defence of their La Liga title against Elche at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on Sunday night. Rodri and Adeyemi are the two new signings Barcelona have registered ahead of the opener.
