There’s a whirlwind of activity at Chelsea at the moment as the club wrap up deal after deal to conclude a busy summer.

The goalkeeper situation looked pretty settled just a week ago – but a swoop for Emi Martinez late last week changed the equation.

It displaced Robert Sanchez as the club’s number one choice, with little time remaining for him to find a new club. Still, good work from the sporting directors looks to have done the job already. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that there is a verbal agreement with Como over a loan for the Spaniard.

Amusingly, Sanchez will join up with Trevoh Chalobah, who made the same move this summer.

Of course Chelsea would rather this was a permanent deal than a loan, but given how little time was left in the window they will be pretty happy just to have found a destination for Sanchez. Having him sit on the bench all year unhappy was not going to be a good solution.

Hopefully he does well in Serie A, and Como buy him outright next summer.

In other news…

While Sanchez is on his way out, a new signing is coming in, as Honest Ahanor agrees a deal to sign for Chelsea next summer from Atalanta.

In the out tray, Shim Mheuka is on his way to join Celtic on loan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are trying to work on replacing Enzo Fernandez. An opening bid for Lamine Camara has been rejected by Monaco.
