Dutch-Ghanaian striker Myron Boadu has joined Watford from PSV on a free transfer, giving the Championship club a new centre-forward on the opening day of September. The 25-year-old completed the move on 1 September 2026 after helping PSV win the Dutch title during the 2025-26 season.
Boadu moves to England after one season with PSV, having arrived from Monaco in August 2025 for 800,000. His switch takes him from the Eredivisie to the Championship and adds another international background to Watfords squad, with the Amsterdam-born forward eligible to represent both the Netherlands and Ghana.
The striker began his senior career with AZ Alkmaar, progressing through the clubs youth system before establishing himself in the first team. Monaco signed him from AZ in August 2021 for 17m, although his time in France was followed by loan spells with FC Twente and VfL Bochum.
Boadu spent the 2023-24 campaign with Twente before moving to Bochum for the following season. He returned to Monaco at the end of each loan spell, then left the club permanently for PSV in 2025.
His PSV season ended with a league championship, the first Dutch title recorded among his career achievements. He now joins Watford as a centre-forward, with his right foot listed as his preferred foot.
Boadu stands 1.83m tall and becomes the latest stage of a career that has already taken him from the Netherlands to France, Germany and now England. His arrival also represents a return to a new domestic league after a campaign in which he was part of PSVs title-winning squad.
The move is valued at 4m by the time of his departure from PSV, but Watford have secured the player without a transfer fee. Boadus contract length at Vicarage Road has not been disclosed.
The completed free transfer was registered on 1 September 2026, with Boadu now part of Watfords Championship squad.
