Everton have been given fresh food for thought in their striker search, with reports from indykaila News claiming that Jamie Vardy’s representatives have made the Toffees aware of his availability on a free transfer.
The veteran forward who served Leicester City over a decade of service at the King Power is understood to already have a number of clubs interested in his signature and it looks like Everton are now among the names being made aware of the situation.

Whether Moyes would actually pursue a deal is another matter entirely.
The Blues summer has been built largely around trying to bring in players with a bit of length left in their legs and on the face of it bringing a 38 year old free agent does not fit that profile in the slightest.
That said, if the plan is to bring someone in purely as competition and a proven goalscoring option off the bench, there is a logic to it that shouldn’t be dismissed out of hand.
Vardy will not be short of suitors given his profile and the modest wage demands that typically come with a free transfer of this kind, so if Everton are serious, it likely won’t take long for something concrete to develop one way or the other.
For now, this is very much one to file under an option given how thin things look up front. So now with the transfer window shut, don’t be surprised if this one rumbles on over the coming days.
