Asante Kotoko have extended their support to Medeama SC and Nations FC ahead of their respective CAF inter-club campaigns.Kotoko, Ghana’s most decorated club, said they were backing both teams as they begin their respective continental campaigns.Medeama, the Ghana Premier League champions, are competing in the CAF Champions League and will face five-time African champions TP Mazembe in the first preliminary round.Nations FC, meanwhile, are representing Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup and will face FC Diarra of Mali in the preliminary round.In a statement, Kotoko urged both clubs to embrace the responsibility of carrying Ghanas flag on the continent.As Ghanas most decorated football club, we are assuring both clubs of our fullest backing as they step onto the continental stage to defend Ghana while making history, Kotoko said.The Kumasi-based club also acknowledged the challenge facing the two Ghanaian representatives and called on them to show resilience in their respective campaigns.Recognising the immense weight of carrying our national flag in Africas premier competitions, we urge both teams to embrace the challenge with resilience and the Porcupine spirit in restoring our footballing prestige, the statement added.Kotoko wished Medeama and Nations FC success in their continental campaigns and urged both clubs not to give up as they seek to advance in the competitions.
