Former Togo captain Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo regularly turns to him for advice as he continues his career at Manchester City.Adebayor, who played for clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid, said Semenyo often seeks his guidance on how to handle the demands of playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs.The former striker has encouraged Semenyo to remain focused, work hard and trust his abilities.He always asks me, Big bro, how can I do this? How can I work on this? And all I keep telling him is, keep your head on your shoulders and keep working hard, Adebayor told 3Sports.Semenyo has attracted attention since joining Manchester City, but has also had to adapt to a squad filled with established and experienced players.Adebayor believes the Ghanaian should remain confident in his ability and not allow criticism to affect his progress.If they bought you from Man City, a lot of people would say, Oh, hes not good. Hes not good enough for Man City. But the club on its own, they have maybe 50 or 100 meetings before deciding to bring a player in, he said.For me, you have the talent. You just have to believe in your quality and play without the pressure.Adebayor also admitted that Semenyo is still adapting to life at Manchester City but believes he will eventually establish himself.Hes struggling a little bit, but he will get there. Obviously, hes new to this Man City squad. Hes new to being with big players, he added.The former Togo international has urged Semenyo to learn from the experienced players around him and use the opportunity to develop.He just has to adapt himself, listen to the older players and the most experienced players in the team to learn from them, Adebayor said.At some point, the tide will turn around and you will be the best and you will be the key player for the team.
