Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has been confirmed as the headline sponsor of the GFA U19 Premier League, in a partnership aimed at strengthening the development pathway for young Ghanaian footballers.
The Football Association said the agreement would support the growth of young talent by providing a structured route from youth football towards the senior game.
The U19 Premier League has been created to give players regular competitive football and help provide opportunities for them to progress into senior football.
The inaugural UMB U19 Premier League will be launched as a pilot competition in the Greater Accra Region. The Football Association plans to use the experience and lessons from the first edition to expand the competition gradually, adding regions until it is established nationwide.
The GFA welcomed UMB to the U19 Premier League family and said it was looking forward to a successful partnership focused on developing the future stars of Ghana football.
The announcement was issued by GFA Communications.
