In this month alone, the NWSL has seen numerous signings take place. Many of the signings include players from overseas. Let’s take a look at some of this month’s league signings.
Naomi Eto
Making the move from French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Denver Summit FC, the young Cameroonian forward is looking to invigorate Summit with an electric playstyle. Her recent role in the 2026 WAFCON for Cameroon sets her up to be a highly anticipated talent for Denver.
Her ability to finish and complete crucial passes is top-notch. Despite being on loan for Sassuolo the majority of the time she was signed at PSG, Eto was able to continue developing her skills at the professional level.
In their inaugural season, Denver is seeking to make a push for the playoffs. This move can be significant once Eto is cleared to be inserted into the lineup. Her physical presence on the frontline and eagerness to score as a striker can propel Summit upwards in the standings.
Barbara Bonansea
Can the Waves continue making waves in the league? Well, with the addition of highly decorated forward Barbara Bonansea, there is added weaponry to their arsenal. Her resume speaks for itself, especially with her previous club, Juventus.
Bonansea will return to Juventus at the conclusion of the NWSL season, so San Diego has her as a season-long loan player. With that, there is great urgency and desire from the Wave to end this season with the NWSL trophy in their hands.
With a player like Bonansea, such an outcome is not out of reach. The Wave currently sit in 2nd place and by inserting a player who has experience of winning over 15 titles into the mix, there is no question in their confidence as playoffs loom.
Clara Luvanga
Making history as the league’s first Tarzanian player, Luvanga is a player that is set to bring much excitement. Her inclusion to the Washington Spirit adds another layer to the already fierce attacking line. Luvanga has displayed great dominance at the striker position in her young career.
The addition of Luvanga also expands the role of African players on the Spirit. Next to Gift Monday, Luvanga will look to give Spirit that extra oomph as they make their playoff push.
She will be with Washington for four years with her contract lasting until the 2029 season.
Bia (Ana Beatriz Gomes Lopes)
Although being moved around from Brazil, China, and Russia at the club level, Bia is looking to cement herself in NWSL territory with the NC Courage. Her international role with the U-20 Brazilian national squad proved to be essential as the team secured the 2022 CONMEBOL U-20 title. At 23 years old, she continues to develop and gain experience.
Her skills are promising as she has shown excellent finishing skills. As a winger, she is dynamic and can play both sides of the ball with strength and determination.
NC Courage will look to climb the ladder just weeks outside the playoffs. Bia can help make that climb, especially alongside the hot streak and stellar form of Ashley Sanchez.
Bia will be with the Courage for two years as her contract extends through the 2027 season with a player option in 2028.
