Black Queens name 24-woman squad for Mauritius Olympic Games qualifiers




Mukarama Abdulai has returned to the Black Queens squad after a two-year absence as Ghana prepare to face Mauritius in the second round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.The nye Kadun forward is among five players recalled by head coach Kim Lars Bjrkegren for the two-legged tie, having spent the past two years battling persistent injuries.Rose Teye Baah, Diana Amoako, Helen Alormenu and Nancy Amoh are the other returnees named in the 24-woman squad.Bjrkegren has also handed first-time call-ups to Rabiatu Maltiti and Margaret Agyapomaa as he makes changes to his squad for the upcoming international break.The squad retains a strong core from Ghanas campaign at the 2026 Womens Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with 17 players from that tournament included for the Olympic qualifiers.Ghana received a bye in the opening round and will now begin their campaign against Mauritius, with qualification for the next stage at stake.The first leg will take place on October 8 before the Black Queens host Mauritius in the return fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 13.Mukaramas return provides another attacking option for Bjrkegren as he prepares the team for the crucial qualifiers.The former FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cup star has endured a difficult period with injuries but now has an opportunity to revive her senior international career.Ghana will be seeking to advance in the Olympic qualification process as Bjrkegren begins another phase of building his Black Queens squad.
