Brighton & Hove Albion defender Manuela Vanegas has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this afternoon.
The 25-year-old Colombian international defender joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer 2025 transfer window. She has made 27 appearances for the Sussex club in all competitions in which she has scored two goals. Vanegas was a member of the Brighton & Hove Albion side that reached a first-ever Adobe Women’s FA Cup final last season.
Vanegas is an important member of the Brighton & Hove Albion side and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for the long-term.
After retaining Vanegas for an extended period, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Arturo Ruiz said “This is great news for Manuela and for Brighton.
“Since I came to the club, I have been impressed with Manuela’s work-rate, commitment to what we are trying to achieve and her willingness to become an even better player.
“I’m looking forward to working with her in the future.”
Brighton & Hove Albion return to action after the international break when they travel to Manchester City. That game takes place at The Joie Stadium on Sunday 18 October 2026.
