Third place and five straight wins for Maestre’s side

The result moves London City Lionesses to 12 points from 5 games, above Tottenham and into third. They are 3 points behind leaders Manchester City, who have 15, and one behind second-placed Chelsea. Their goal difference is now 10.

This was their fifth consecutive win in all competitions, following victories over Ipswich Town, Brighton, Leicester City and Charlton Athletic. Their last defeat came against West Ham, 1-2.

Tottenham drop to fourth on 10 points. The loss ends a five-match unbeaten run that included a 7-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 4-0 win against Aston Villa. It also reverses the last league meeting between the clubs on 3 May 2026, when Spurs won 2-1. London City’s previous best result in the meetings listed was a 4-2 win in November 2025.

Pelova keeps a share of the top scorer spot

Pelova’s goal was her fifth of the league season. That puts her level with Manchester City’s K. Shaw at the top of the scoring chart. Van de Donk and Putellas both move to 3 goals, alongside Tottenham’s O. Holdt.

Both sides play next on Sunday 18 October. Tottenham face a trip to Chelsea. London City Lionesses host Everton, who sit fifth with 9 points.
