Chelsea made a blistering start to their first Premier League game back after the break, scoring twice in the first 3 minutes against Bournemouth.

First was a lovely Jordan Henderson strike. Cole Palmer set the ball back to the midfielder on the edge of the box, and he hit a right footed shot across goal and into the far side netting to the keeper’s right.

Chelsea kept up the pressure and had their second goal within a minute. This time it was Morgan Rogers, whose ambitious chipped shot flicked off the head of Antonio Silva and carried past Djordje Petrovic in the Cherries’ net.

Rogers started the season well both for Chelsea and for England, and this is just his latest G/A for the list.

It’s the perfect start for the Blues – now there is simply no excuse to not shut things down and get a first clean sheet of the season.

In other news…

Reece James isn’t in the squad today because he picked up an injury in training yesterday, according to his manager.

Chelsea’s team news for today is out, and there are some important additions – although no debut for our wing back.

Marco Palestra is finally on the bench for Chelsea and could make his debut today – but they’re already looking at another left back from Serie A.
