Coventry City host Newcastle United at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Monday night, with both sides seeking back-to-back Premier League wins after winning on 19 September.
Coventry are 19th on three points and the division’s lowest scorers, with a single goal. That goal came in a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, their first top-flight victory since April 2001. Newcastle have eight points from five games and have won each of the last seven meetings, going back to Coventry’s 4-1 win in October 1999. It is the first meeting since February 2010 and the first in the top flight since January 2001.

Team news
Coventry City
Taiwo Awoniyi completes a three-game suspension after his sending-off against Brighton, while Haji Wright (quad), Luke Woolfenden (knee), Josh Eccles (calf) and Aurele Amenda (calf) are out. Milan van Ewijk (hamstring) is back in training and expected to return to the matchday squad. Caleb Yirenkyi, who covered at right wing-back at Forest, could keep his place.
Newcastle United
Ewen Jaouen (hamstring) is out for around two months. Jaissle said he expects three or four of the players who missed the Hull game to be back in contention, including Joelinton (groin) and Nico Gonzalez (concussion). Jacob Ramsey, Amar Dedic, Anthony Elanga, Dan Burn, Will Osula, Lewis Miley and Tino Livramento are all doubts, and at least one could make the bench.
Form
Coventry City
Coventry lost their first four league games by an aggregate of 10-0 before the win at Forest, their first clean sheet of the league season. They have lost both home league games, 1-0 to Hull City and 5-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as the EFL Cup tie against Aston Villa, so they have no home win this season. Jay Dasilva scored the winner at the City Ground from a long kick by goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.
Newcastle United
Newcastle have won four of their six games in all competitions, the latest a 2-1 home win over Hull on 19 September that followed a 4-1 defeat at Leeds United. Joe Willock and Lewis Hall scored inside the first seven minutes against Hull, both set up by Harvey Barnes, but Newcastle conceded 22 shots and Yoane Wissa had a penalty saved. They have scored in all three of their away games in all competitions this season.
Predicted lineups
Coventry City predicted XI: Rushworth; Mfuni, Pinnock, Thomas; Yirenkyi, Grimes, Onyeka, Dasilva; Rudoni, Mason-Clark; Thomas-Asante
Newcastle United predicted XI: Hornicek; Miley, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Gonzalez, Willock; Murphy, Fernandez-Pardo, Barnes; Wissa
