Fulham Reject January Sale of Josh King Despite Liverpool and Manchester United Interest

Fulham are reportedly determined to keep hold of Josh King in January, with Liverpool and Manchester United set to be frustrated in their pursuit of the teenager.

Fulham Stance on Josh King Transfer

According to Football Insider, the Cottagers have no plans to sell the 19-year-old during the winter window, as they focus on climbing the Premier League table. King has become a key figure under Alvaro Arbeloa, netting twice in six league outings this term.

Fulham reportedly value him at a minimum of £50 million, and even a bid of that size is expected to be rejected before the summer.

Why Liverpool and Manchester United Want Josh King

King has made 56 senior appearances since joining the first-team group in 2024, and his versatility is a major selling point. Although primarily a midfielder, he can also be deployed as a centre-forward.

Liverpool are keeping tabs on his progress, with Florian Wirtz yet to find top form at Anfield. Manchester United see King as a long-term option in midfield, potentially in the mould of Bruno Fernandes.

Our Take

Fulham are right to stand firm. Losing a rising homegrown talent mid-season would hurt their survival bid, and with such a high asking price, a summer deal looks the more realistic scenario. Expect the pressure to build, though, as the interest from Merseyside and Manchester shows no sign of fading.
