Xabi Alonso’s side visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium for a lunchtime kick-off, looking to build on their 5-1 victory over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

The game will also mark Chelsea’s first trip outside London this season, with the Blues set to wear their new white strip for the occasion.

Manufactured by Nike, the retro-inspired kit features blue trim around the collar and sleeves, alongside vertical red pinstripes. A vintage-style Chelsea crest sits on the left side of the shirt, next to the gold badge commemorating the club’s Club World Cup triumph last summer.

The design takes inspiration from Chelsea’s away kits of the 1980s and 1990s, particularly the club’s 1992-93 strip, which was initially divisive before becoming a cult favourite among supporters.

Made by Umbro and sponsored by Commodore, that kit has since become one of the club’s most recognisable designs.

Nike say the new strip also celebrates more than 30 years of the sportswear brand and Chelsea establishing themselves as global footballing powers.

Chelsea have played three away matches in the Premier League so far this season, winning 3-2 at Fulham before suffering defeats against Arsenal and Brentford.

They wore their traditional royal-blue home kit in the victory at Craven Cottage and the defeat against Arsenal, while the 3-0 loss at Brentford saw them debut their black away strip, featuring neon-yellow lettering and logos.

All three Chelsea kits currently feature USDC by Circle as their main shirt sponsor, following a one-year agreement with Circle Internet Group announced in August. The club had initially begun the season without a front-of-shirt sponsor.
