Meet the 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or Winners

The 2026 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony took place on October 26, with the world of soccer coming together to recognize some of the best performers throughout the 2025-26 season. On the women’s side of things, there was a whole lot of Spanish representation, with many notable names bringing hardware home for themselves.

Alexia Putellas – Ballon d’Or Féminin

Putellas is back atop the mountain of women’s football, winning her third Ballon d’Or trophy, and her first since 2022. This achievement stamps a storybook ending to Putellas’ legendary career at Barcelona, as she is now onto new endeavors with London City.

Putellas led Barcelona to a treble in her final season with the club, as well as a dominant run in the Champions League. There, she posted seven goals and seven assists, en route to being named Champions League Player of the Season as Barcelona earned their fourth ever trophy in the competition.

Vicky López – Women’s Kopa Trophy

The Barcelona attacker took home the title as the best young player in women’s football, doing so for a second straight year. López was right alongside Putellas leading Barça on its glorious run through the Champions League and Liga F.

Individually, López notched 12 goals and 13 assists across Barcelona’s campaign. And now, at just 21 years old, she has quite the resume, which includes two Kopa trophies, four Liga F titles and three Champions League titles.

Cata Coll – Women’s Yashin Trophy

Yet another Barcelona player taking home hardware– this time it’s Cata Coll, who was deemed the best goalkeeper on the soccer scene from 2025 to 2026.

As Barcelona went on their unbelievable run, Coll was a steady presence in the net, only allowing an unbelievable 16 goals across 32 appearances. After finishing third in voting a year ago, Coll dominated the voting this year, bringing home the second ever Women’s Yashin Trophy after Hannah Hampton did it a year ago.

Charlyn Corral – Gerd Müller Trophy

At 35 years old, one of the all-time Mexico soccer greats got celebrated in a big way. Charlyn Corral was honored as the best women’s striker in football, after her fifth season with Pachuca.

It was a remarkable season for Corral, scoring 20 goals in just 21 appearances across Liga MX Femenil. Across all competitions, the totals finished at a ridiculous 43 goals and 11 assists, earning Corral the second ever women’s Gerd Müller Trophy.

FC Barcelona – Women’s Club of the Year

It’s no surprise that Barca found itself back with this honor after its utterly dominant season. That now makes it three times in the last four years, after Arsenal took the mantle at last year’s Ballon d’Or awards.

Truly, all Barcelona did from 2025 to 2026 was win. In just one season of football, they won Liga F, the Champions League, the Copa de la Reina and the Spanish Women’s Super Cup. And now, after winning eight of their first nine games to start their 2026-27 Liga F campaign, Barca has no plans of stopping their winning ways.
