Kwame Opoku ruled out of Bibiani Gold Stars' clash against Aduana Stars

Bibiani Gold Stars coach Petros Koukouras has confirmed that forward Kwame Opoku will miss their Ghana Premier League encounter against Aduana Stars due to injury.Opoku picked up the injury during Gold Stars’ previous league game against Samartex and is expected to spend at least a couple of weeks on the sidelines.Speaking ahead of Sunday’s encounter, Koukouras revealed that the injury is not as serious as initially feared but stressed the importance of allowing the forward sufficient time to recover.”Yeah, Kwame Opoku picked an injury in the last game, and he was forced to go out. We have assessed the injury. It’s not as serious as it first looked, but of course he’s not going to be part of the squad this week. And I think he will have to stay out for a couple of weeks at least. Because if we rush an injury, then we might have a recurrent injury and it’s going to disturb him for the whole season. So the most important thing is for him to play when he’s healthy and he can help the team. The rest of the players, we don’t have any major concerns right now, except Foster Agyei that he’s still recovering from the injury the first game. The rest of the players are fit,” he told Gold Stars TV.Gold Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to Samartex in matchweek nine, with Christian Agyenim Boateng scoring from the penalty spot in the 26th minute. The Miners currently occupy 15th position in the league standings with 10 points from nine matches.Koukouras’ side will welcome Aduana Stars to Dun’s Park on November 8, hoping to return to winning ways.
