U20 AFCON: GFA Vice-President Mark Addo inspires Black Satellites ahead of crucial clash with Senegal

Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, paid a morale-boosting visit to the camp of the Black Satellites ahead of their crucial Group C match match against Senegal at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Egypt 2025.

The visit, described by players and technical staff as timely and inspiring, comes as Ghana seeks to book a place in the quarterfinals and continue their journey toward qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025.

Addressing the team, Mr. Addo conveyed the unwavering support of the Ghanaian people, along with warm greetings from the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, and the President of the GFA, Mr. Kurt E.S. Okraku.

“You carry the hopes of an entire nation,” Mr. Addo told the players. “The country stands firmly behind you, and we are proud of your dedication and resilience.”

He commended the Black Satellites for their spirited performance in the opening match against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a fixture that ended in a tightly contested draw.

“Your first game was no easy taskthe DRC proved to be formidable opponents. Nonetheless, your effort and discipline on the field give us confidence that this team can go far in the tournament. Stay united, focused, and fight for the flag of Ghana,” he encouraged.

The Black Satellites will face Senegal in a match that could prove pivotal in determining their path in the tournament, with national pride and qualification hopes on the line.
