Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly stepping up their interest in Juventus defender Federico Gatti, with a summer transfer tug-of-war looming as West Ham, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest also circle, according to Caught Offside.
The 26-year-old centre-back has emerged as a reliable figure in Juve’s backline since arriving from Frosinone in 2022. Known for his physical presence, aerial dominance, and old-school defensive mentality, Gatti has helped the Bianconeri secure back-to-back top-four finishes in Serie A. However, Juventus are under pressure to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, and Gatti could be among those sacrificed to balance the books.

Despite initial contract talks with the Italian giants, progress has stalled—opening the door for Premier League interest. Tottenham, in particular, are showing “strong interest” as they seek to reinforce their backline under their incoming manager following a leaky defensive campaign.
Juventus are reportedly demanding around £29 million, with Gatti open to a move to England. While his ball-playing ability has been questioned, last season’s 95% pass accuracy in Serie A and 94% in the Champions League suggests otherwise.
With West Ham also eyeing reinforcements despite last summer’s additions of Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman, and Newcastle lurking, the battle for Gatti’s signature could heat up quickly. For Spurs or the Hammers, landing the Italian international could be a defensive game-changer.
