Asante Kotoko have selected Samba O’Niel as the new club captain ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The towering defender takes over the armband as the Porcupine Warriors prepare for a fresh campaign, aiming to restore their dominance in Ghana football.
Joining him in the leadership group are Henry Ansu, who has been named first assistant captain, and Lord Amoah, who takes up the role of second assistant captain.
This follows the departure of a number of leaders in the team including Frederick Asare, Justice Blay and Richard Boadu who left earlier.
The new leadership trio is expected to bring unity, discipline, and motivation to the squad as the club looks to challenge on all fronts, both domestically and in continental competitions.
Kotoko begin their campaign with a highly anticipated Toyota Cup clash against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs on July 26, 2025 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
