The 2025 Women’s Euro delivered everything one could have dreamt of. The tournament had several matches where your breath was stolen by how close the games were. From the beginning, many people thought of Spain as the favorites, but England quickly proved them wrong. While Spain and England made it to the final, there were also players outside these two teams who shone. Most players might come from the finalists, but their spot is deserved. Here are ten standout players from the 2025 Women’s Euro.
Aitana Bonmatí
Spain might have lost the 2025 Women’s Euro, but they still had several outstanding players. One of these players is Aitana Bonmatí, who is considered by many to be the best player in the world. Bonmatí proved why Spain can depend on her when she scored the winning goal against Germany in the semi-final. Unfortunately, she missed her penalty against England, which contributed to her team’s loss. Despite this, she still played a crucial role in the tournament.
Bonmatí is the one who brought Spain’s midfield together. She was also awarded Player of the Tournament. After all, she is a different kind of player.
Esther González
Gotham FC’s Esther González was also one of the standout players in the tournament. She managed to be named the top scorer of the 2025 Women’s Euro with four goals. Her clinical finishing skills shone brightly in all the matches she played. There is no doubt that she was a weapon for Spain with how threatening she was in front of goal. Unfortunately, González didn’t score in the final, but she had several chances.
Alexia Putellas
Alexia Putellas may have had a bad day in the final game, but she had a great tournament otherwise. She had three goals to her name, following González. Putellas also finished the tournament with four assists. Her leadership and skills helped Spain throughout the tournament, but they didn’t give them the cup. If luck was on Putellas’ side, she would have had a beautiful end to the great tournament she played.
Chloe Kelly
Chloe Kelly can only be described as England’s savior. She might have been on the bench during matches, but she always made a difference when she came on. She helped England win the 2025 Women’s Euro by scoring the winning penalty, but this is just a regular occurrence for Arsenal’s star. She helped her team win the previous Euro as well. It’s not just her performance in the final, but in matches before it, too. Kelly also scored the extra-time winner against Italy in the semi-final. She made the assist for Alessia Russo’s equalizer in the final. It’s not an exaggeration if people say that England won because of Kelly. And just like she said, “The first time was so nice, we had to do it twice.”
Kelly also told the BBC how much she appreciates Sarina Wiegman as she said, “She’s an incredible person. She gave me hope when I probably didn’t have any. She gave me an opportunity to represent my country again. What she has done for the women’s game – not just in England, but the Netherlands and the whole women’s game – has been unbelievable. I’m so grateful to work with such amazing staff members.” Wiegman believed in Kelly, and the latter proved that she is up to the task.
Hannah Hampton
Hannah Hampton is another player who shone brightly at the 2025 Women’s Euro. Several people believed that she deserved to be named Player of the Tournament. She was, however, named Player of the Match in the final. From the very beginning, Hampton proved herself as a crucial player for England. She was always there when they needed her. England has to be grateful for Hampton’s control and reactions; they helped the team lift the trophy.
Hampton, becoming England’s first goalkeeper, has been surrounded by doubt, especially since she was replacing Mary Earps. She managed to silence all doubters with her performance in the final game. After all, she had two amazing saves during the penalty shootout. Plus, not a lot of goalkeepers can say that they saved a penalty from Aitana Bonmatí.
Michelle Agyemang
Someone else who was crucial for England in the 2025 Women’s Euro is Michelle Agyemang. Despite being just 19 years old, Agyemang has booked for herself a place in England’s roster for years to come. She is England’s super-sub, and for a good reason, too. Agyemang showcased her talent and determination as she scored the equalizer against Sweden just after coming onto the pitch, taking only 103 seconds. She did it again against Italy with her stoppage-time goal, which forced extra time. Her finishing skills and timing were enough to make Wiegman depend on her when it mattered most. It’s not surprising that she won the Young Player of the Tournament award.
Delphine Cascarino
France had a standout player of their own during the 2025 Women’s Euro, and that is Delphine Cascarino. Cascarino’s influence was clear during the group stage as she managed to score two goals and register two assists as well. Her performance against England also won her Player of the Match award. Unfortunately, France lost against Germany after a penalty shootout, but that doesn’t erase everything that Cascarino did. She is and will still be a great attacking threat, not just for France but for San Diego Wave as well.
Stina Blackstenius
Sweden might have lost against England, but they had one player who made a difference, and that is Stina Blackstenius. The striker managed to finish the tournament with three goals to her name. Blackstenius gave fans some hope when she scored Sweden’s second goal against England, but the latter’s comeback didn’t make the dream come true. When looking past the fact that they exited the tournament, Sweden should be glad to have a player such as Blackstenius.
Ann‑Katrin Berger
Hampton isn’t the only goalkeeper who played well at the tournament. There is also Germany’s Ann‑Katrin Berger. Berger left everyone astonished with all the saves that she made in the matches she played. She had nine saves in the quarter-final, and that kept her team in the game. She then proceeded to save two penalties and score one herself to get the win against France. Berger might not have saved Bonmatí’s shot, but she is still a great goalkeeper who defied the odds.
Jule Brand
Brand has been one of the best players on her team, and she definitely contributed to them reaching the semi-finals. Whether playing as a full-back or in midfield, Brand managed to show off her talent. Her tackling is just one of the many things that make her a great player, along with her ability to distribute the ball. The 22-year-old definitely has a bright future. She deserves to be on our list of the 2025 Women’s Euros standout players.
