Swedish-born forward of Ghanaian descent, Jonah Kusi-Asare, scored the winning goal for Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening when the team defeated Grasshoppers 2-1 in a friendly match.
In the game played at Letzigrund Stadion in Zurich, the Swiss outfit hoped to pull off a rare win after the German Bundesliga champions paraded a weaker starting eleven dominated by teenagers.
However, Bayern Munich still emerged as the stronger side with the teenagers impressing and taking the game to the host.
After 20 minutes into the first half, Lennart Karl equalised to give Bayern Munich the lead after he was assisted by Tom Bischof.
Six minutes after that goal, Jonah Kusi-Asare was presented with a fine chance and got his name on the scoresheet.
Although Grasshoppers would pull one back through Loris Giandomenico in the second half, it was not enough to save the side from a 2-1 defeat.
After scoring in the friendly win today, Jonah Kusi-Asare now has two goals in his last two matches.
Reports indicate that he is likely to go out on loan this summer to ensure he plays regular football to continue his development.
