Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been voted the English Premier League Player of the Week for matchday 26.
The Black Stars forward produced a Man of the Match performance to lead Manchester City to a 3-0 victory against Fulham at the Etihad.
Semenyo opened the scoring after finishing off a move following a scrappy defending by Fulham, poaching home from close range.
He went from scorer to provider few minutes later, setting up Nico O’Reilly for City’s second before Erlind Haaland completed the victory.
The 26-year-old, who joined the Premier League giants in January, becomes the third City player to win the accolade after Erlind Haaland on matchday 6 and Jeremy Doku on matchday 11.
Semenyo secured 39 per cent of votes to beat Virgil Van Dijk, who collected 32% of the votes. Others on the list were Lukas Nmemcha of Leeds, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ goalkeeper Jose Sa, Malick Thiaw of Newcastle United and Burnley’s Jaidon Anthony.
The former Bournemouth star has had an electric start to life at the Etihad, scoring five goals in seven matches for Manchester City.
