Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has pledged to raise his performance levels ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, insisting he is determined to prove his quality once again.
The 34-year-old shot-stopper enjoyed a remarkable period with the Black Stars during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, where he earned a place in Ghanas final squad and featured in three group-stage matches.
Asare was handed the starting role in Ghanas games against Panama, England and Croatia, producing impressive performances that further enhanced his reputation on the international stage.
Speaking to the media, the former Great Olympics goalkeeper said he is motivated to continue improving and show that he still has more to offer both at club and national level.
This is the time to prove to Ghanaians that I can do it, Asare said.
Once it is my job, I must prove it anywhere because of the love and the way they cheer me. As of now, expect more from me next season, he added.
The experienced goalkeeper will now turn his attention to Hearts of Oaks domestic campaign as the Phobians prepare for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts of Oak will begin their 2026/27 league journey against Berekum Chelsea, with Asare expected to play a key role in the clubs push for success.
His performances are also likely to keep him in contention for a place in the Black Stars squad ahead of Ghanas 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for September.
