Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, will take on Senegal in the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after cruising past Liberia with an emphatic 8-0 aggregate victory.
The Black Maidens sealed their place in the decisive stage with a 2-0 win over Liberia in the second leg in Monrovia, following a dominant 6-0 triumph in the first leg in Accra.
Goals from Seidatu Wahab and Juliana Gyekyewaa, both from expertly taken free-kicks, ensured another comfortable victory for the Ghanaian side as they maintained their impressive form in the qualifiers.
The Maidens have been in outstanding form throughout the campaign, having also eliminated Togo with an identical 8-0 aggregate scoreline in the opening round.
The Black Maidens have now scored an incredible 16 goals without conceding a single goal in four qualification matches, underlining their dominance on the road to the global tournament.
Their next challenge comes against a strong Senegal side in the third and final qualifying round.
The first leg is scheduled to take place between July 3 and July 5, while the return leg will be played between July 10 and July 12, 2026.
The winner of the two-legged tie will secure one of Africa’s coveted slots at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana has a rich history at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the Black Maidens will be determined to maintain that tradition by overcoming Senegal and returning to the world stage.
