The Black Satellites have completed their first training session in Yamoussoukro, Cte d’Ivoire, as they continue preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, which gets underway on Sunday, July 26.
Head coach Maxwell Konadu supervised Saturday’s session as the squad sharpened its tactics and match readiness ahead of Monday’s Group B opener against regional rivals Nigeria.
Following the clash with Nigeria, Ghana will face Burkina Faso before concluding the group stage against Togo. The Black Satellites are targeting a place in the knockout stage as they seek to reclaim the WAFU B U-20 Championship title.
Although Ghana is already assured of a place at the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as tournament hosts, the WAFU B U-20 Championship offers the Black Satellites a valuable platform to assess their progress, build team chemistry, and compete for regional honours.
